Live Projects

Live Projects engages teams of diverse University students with the support of consulting mentors, to deliver 3-6 week business projects to clients including Victorian Agencies, Businesses and Community organisations. Live Projects will engage some of the bright young leaders from around the world studying in Victoria, in developing ideas and linkages for the industries of the future that will grow Victoria’s prosperity.

Live Projects in Melbourne

Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade the Hon. Philip Dalidakis launched the LIVE initiative for international students in Victoria. The Minister said; “Through initiatives like LIVE, we are working to enhance the experience of our international students so Victoria’s education sector keeps its competitive edge, continues to create jobs for our state and supports the international student community”.

How to get involved

Project Providers

Government Agencies, Businesses and Community Organisations engage students to address a business challenge and act as Clients to the Project Team.
Participation is free for Clients.
Types of business projects from previous cohorts include market research, social media strategy, value chain mapping, event planning, etc.

Team Mentors

Live Projects is seeking expressions of interest from volunteer Mentors who would like to support Project Teams, each consisting of 5-6 international students, undertaking 3-week business projects. Mentors provide an invaluable industry, coaching and feedback role to students.

Student Participants

Live Projects is aimed at further enhancing the international student experience in Victoria under the Study Melbourne LIVE Initiative. Live Projects works to improve social connectedness, engagement with the wider community and employability skills.

Participation in Live Projects is open to all international students in Victoria with places organised through participating Victorian Universities and TAFEs.
